Iodinated contrast can be given with creatinine under 2.0. If contrast is requested with creatinine above 2.0, the exam may be performed without IV contrast or contrast can still be given after checking with a radiologist first, in order to see if there is an alternative.
Gadolinium based MRI contrast: Gadolinium should not be given with GFR under 30.
